You nevah goin break one promise to somebody you respect, but to yourself, mos weeks you break um and not even notice. Dat one worth sitting wit fo a minute dis morning. Da room quiet. Get one whole day ahead wit room inside. Da gap between dose two standards, dat da whole thing right hea.
One notebook open to one page wit one list, half of it not even done. One pen, no more cap. Da birds outside all busy about nothing. Da clock on da oven, nine minutes off, like always.
Every time you break one promise to yourself, dat like put one small deposit inside da wrong account. Feel like no cost cuz nobody was witness, but dat exactly why it pile up: you da only one in dis agreement, you da only one keeping score, so nothing from outside evah goin fix um. Da reason dis matter, trust in yourself get build da same way any trust get build, from one record of promises you kept, so if you keep letting yourself down, eventually you goin stop believing your own plans. Dat not just one mood. Dat one accurate read of one real history.
Look at da size of what you been promising. You been making commitments even one well-rested stranger would struggle wit, den you read da failure like one verdict on your character, not on da size of da promise. Dis not one discipline problem wearing one discipline costume, dis one scoping problem, and scoping easy fo fix. Promise something small enough dat keeping um almost guaranteed, and da ledger start running da other way inside one week.
So today, make one promise and keep um. On purpose, make um small. Ten minutes of something, one message sent, one surface cleared off. Tell yourself in da morning and do um befo da day pau, so da record show one kept.
One small one, by itself, no change nothing. But still, dat da only way da ledger evah turn around. Da account been overdrawn fo a while now. Open um again today and let um build up quiet.
