Finding ongoing support

Crisis lines are for the sharpest moments. For the longer road, a therapist or counselor can help. A good first step is talking to your doctor, who can point you toward options and rule out physical causes. Online therapist directories let you search by location and what you're dealing with, and affordable options exist, community mental health centers, sliding-scale clinics, training clinics, employee assistance programs, and school or university counseling services.
