You nevah go talk dat way to one friend

You went make one mistake and you been talking to yourself about um in one voice you nevah use out loud. Started before you even wake up proper. Da room stay quiet an reasonable but da voice, not even close. Whole day stay ahead of you, and da first choice you gotta make is which voice get to run da show.

Cold water running till um go proper cold. One crack in da tile you been looking at one thousand times already. Da fridge starting up an stopping. Your own hands, doing da regular stuff, while da commentary stay going non stop.

If one friend came to you wit dis exact same mistake, you would know right away what fo tell um. You would stay warm, you would stay helpful, an you would be honest about da part dat was theirs. But you no give yourself dat same kine deal, an not cuz you get one higher standard, its cuz being hard on yourself feel like accountability from inside, so you tink being mean to yourself mean you taking um serious. But dat no work like dat. When one person stay braced up against their own voice, all da energy go into bracing, so da harshness end up costing you da exact ting it was suppose to give you.

Look what dat meanness stay protecting. If you go there first an you go hard, no more nobody can hurt you wit um after, and yeah, dat's one real strategy, just one expensive one. Dat's not toughness wearing one hard face, dat's fear of somebody else saying um first. And da people who actually get better da fastest, dey almost nevah da ones talking to themselves like dat, dey da ones who can look at one mistake straight, no flinching, cuz looking no come wit one punishment attached.

So today, you go tell yourself da same ting but in da other voice. Same facts, nutting softened, nutting excused, but using da words you would use for somebody you like. Out loud if you can, just once. Gonna feel like you no deserve um, little bit silly too, but you do, an its not silly.

You allowed to be on your own side while still telling yourself da truth. Those nevah was opposites. Only looked dat way from inside da other voice.
