Da thing stay pau. It work, you proud of um, and da only step left is telling people it exist. Somewhere inside da last two weeks dat step wen turn into one whole project by itself: one checklist of forty items, most of um about da announcement instead of da product, and one growing feeling dat if da day no stay big enough, da thing no going count.
It going count. One launch stay one day you tell people, and dat's all it ever wen be. Da version dat work for one business with one person inside stay small, dated and repeatable: one sentence, three places where your people already stay, and one shop dat stay open da next morning with nothing changed. You no trying fo win one afternoon. You trying fo start one habit of telling people. Da second telling and da third stay where most of da customers actually come from.
What count as one launch when nobody know me yet?
One date, one sentence about what you wen make, and three places where da people who might like um already stay. Everything else on da checklist stay optional, and most of it exist fo make da day feel important, not fo sell anything.
Launch advice mostly get written for companies with one audience, one press contact and one budget. You get one phone and one list of people. Da useful news is dat da small version no stay one weaker copy of da big one. It stay one different thing dat work mo betta at your size, cuz people who buy from one person business stay buying from da person, and one person can only stay in couple places at one time.
Pick da date first, befo you even touch da checklist. Dat no stay one scheduling trick, dat's da method: locking down when and where you going act stay one of da mo studied ways fo turn one intention into something dat actually happen. Da date do da cutting for you too. One launch three weeks out get room for forty tasks. One launch on da twelfth get room for six, and da six dat survive going be da six dat wen matter.
How I write da one sentence?
Say what it is, who it stay for, and what it cost, in dat order and in plain words. If you can say um out loud to one friend without flinching, it stay pau.
I make cotton aprons with real pockets, for people who cook every day, and dey 48 dollars. I edit podcasts for people who record mo than dey can keep up with, from 90 dollars one episode. Nobody need one tagline. Nobody ever wen buy anything from one person business cuz of one tagline.
Two words fo delete: just and kine of. Dey come uninvited and dey tell da reader you not sure. I just make one kine of apron stay da same information with da confidence taken out.
Say um out loud one time befo da day, to one person, and watch dea face at da price. If dey no blink, you fine. If you catch yourself adding one justification after da number, delete da justification, not da number.
Write da sentence one week befo da date, read um one time on da morning, and send um exactly how you wen write um. Da urge fo improve um at nine on launch day no stay craft. Dat's nerves, and nerves neva one time wen make one sentence shorter.
Where I tell people if I no more audience?
Three places where your people already stand: da group, forum or club dey stay in, da ten or twenty individuals who would really like dis, and one public post wherever you already get one handful of followers. Three stay enough, cuz one first sale come out of one conversation, not out of reach.
Write da three places down next to da date. Choosing dem ahead of time is what stop da day from turning into six hours of refreshing one app. Da group you already belong to count double, cuz da people dea understand what da thing is without you explaining.
Choose da group careful. One place where people already talk about da thing you make beat five places where you stay one stranger with one link. If you been reading one forum for one year without posting, dat's your first place, and da fact dat you wen be useful dea befo you needed anything is why da post going get read at all.
Message da individuals one at a time, with dea name inside and da price included. Ten separate messages take twenty minutes, and every one of um land in front of somebody who might actually answer back. One blast is one performance. One message is one conversation, and one conversation can end in one sale.
Da public post stay da least important of da three, and dat's da one people spend all week on. Write um, post um, close da app, and go do something with your hands.
What if almost nobody answer on da day?
Dat's da normal shape of one first launch and it no stay one verdict on da product. Da first telling reach people who already know you, and dat's one small number by definition, and da orders usually come on da second and third telling instead.
So decide ahead of time what da day stay for. Not for one sales figure. It stay for making da thing public, getting da sentence out of your head, and finding out which of da three places wen produce one reply. Write dose two or three replies down. Dat's da beginning of one customer list.
Watch what people ask instead of what dey buy. Three people asking if it come in one bigger size stay worth mo than eleven likes, and dat's da only free market research you ever going get.
And leave da price alone for two weeks. Dropping um on day two teach da people who was about fo buy dat waiting get rewarded, and it answer one question nobody wen actually ask yet.
Da morning after, and da month after
Open da shop, change nothing, and go about your day. One week of leaving um alone stay worth mo than one week of adjusting, cuz you no can learn nothing from one page dat stay different every time somebody look at um.
Den plan da second telling befo da first one even wen land. Put um in da calendar: two weeks out, den one month after dat. Almost nobody buy da first time dey hear about something, and spreading out da times you say um beat saying um over and over in one burst, and dat's one of da most reliable findings in da study of memory. One launch you can run again next month beat one you had fo survive.
Make da second telling different, not louder. Show da thing in use, answer one question somebody actually wen ask, or say what you wen learn in da first two weeks. Nobody mind hearing about your work twice when da second time carry something new, and da second post stay mo easy fo write than da first cuz by den you get one customer fo write about.
Dat's da real reason fo keep um quiet. Not modesty, and not lowering da ambition. One launch small enough fo repeat is one launch you can run twelve times dis year, and twelve tellings by one steady person beat one loud afternoon by one worn out person, every time.
